Butley Abbey Farmhouse sits in the woods and meadows of Butley Abbey Wilds. Its beautiful Georgian front faces a large garden, tennis court, and croquet lawn, with meadows and woods behind. Old farm buildings and the medieval Butley Priory gatehouse are located at the back, creating a peaceful and private retreat. This luxury house in Suffolk includes a large family kitchen with modern amenities, three cosy sitting rooms with open fires, and a spacious dining room that seats up to 24 guests. There are 12 spacious bedrooms: 9 doubles and 3 twins. Butley Abbey Farmhouse is available for self-catering, though we can also fridge-fill with homemade meals or arrange a private chef.

More than just a stay
We think adults have too little fun. There is plenty to do at the Farmhouse and in the surrounding Butley Abbey Wilds.
There is an all-weather tennis court, a croquet lawn and set, table tennis, and inside the house you’ll find board games aplenty for rainy days.
There are beautiful walks and cycle routes that start and finish at your door, and beaches and swim spots within ten minutes’ drive.
We can arrange yoga, cookery and art classes for you. If you’re feeling more adventurous, you can be lead into the woods for axe-throwing, archery, scavenger hunts or to learn bushcraft skills.
In short, there won’t be a quiet moment unless you want one.

If you are looking for the space of a big house, but don’t need all twelve bedrooms. We have the perfect solution!
Butley Abbey Farmhouse is available at half-occupancy rates. Six bedrooms for up to twelve guests. Need just a couple more rooms? No problem, we can add these for you on a ‘per room’ basis.

Gothic architecture, vaulted ceilings and a charming Tudor garden create an enchanting atmosphere at Butley Priory Gatehouse. It has four spacious bedrooms for 7 to 11 guests.

An 18th century flint cottage beside the Priory. Once used as a stable for the Priory and later as a summerhouse. It has two double bedrooms, a kitchen and living room with sofa bed.

Paddy's Cottage

Paddy’s Cottage adjoins the farmhouse and offers a ground floor bedroom and wet room. It has two double bedrooms, a comfortable double sofa bed, and a pretty patio garden with sunset views.
